Downtown Houston Engagement Photography – DJ & Obi

without comments

This couple’s schedule was unbelievably tight. Even though they booked me almost a year before the wedding, we had such a hard time getting our schedules together. We finally ended up a couple of weeks before the wedding, trying to get the shoot done – it rained and since we couldn’t find another day before the wedding to shoot, we went anyway – and I’m so glad we did! I’m almost hoping for another rainy session…

San Antonio Engagement Photography – Tope & Biyi

without comments

Tope and Biyi talked me into coming to San Antonio to shoot their session – it wasn’t too hard because (a) I love to shoot in new and different places and (b) Seaworld! So we all rode up there and I checked out a couple of potential locations. We settled on this picturesque location below and it was pretty cool. Tope had warned me up front that Biyi was *so* not into having his photograph taken, but by the end of the shoot he was coming up with shot ideas and not wanting the session to be over. Very cool! Dallas Engagement Session – Chuks & Kelechi

without comments

I had a really long week in Dallas – I shot my first 3 day wedding, and then the next day, just before i was to leave for Houston, I shot Chuks and Kelechi’s session. I thought I’d be tired, but as soon as I got there, I was all psyched and we had a bunch of fun! They were both really cool and did great despite all the walking. Like many grooms, Chuks needed a little warming up but when he got into it, we got some amazing stuff. The picture of them kissing in front of the kissing statue is definitely one of my favorite images of the year. We’ve already shot their wedding in Houston so I’ll be posting some of that soon as well. Enjoy!

IB & Mike – Engagement Session in Sugar Land, TX

without comments

Ah, IB & Mike. These two have got to be the most laid back (and by laid back, I mean silliest) couple I’ve shot in a while. IB is my cousin, and I’ve been watching Mike fumble around for quite a while now, so I was delighted when they told me it was Go Time. IB has always had her eye on this phone booth for her engagement pictures, even well before she got engaged! It took some doing, including talking to the owners of the phone booth, and power tools. Don’t ask. Worth it though! I’ll be posting images from the wedding shortly, so check those out too, soon.

Lee & Rolake Engagement Session – Kemah Boardwalk

with one comment

Rolake flew in from NY and met us in Houston, and then we (Me, Rolake, Lee and Nosa the magnificent wedding coordinator) drove up to Kemah. I had actually been to Galveston AND Kemah the day before to scout the locations etc and we settled on Kemah. There was lots to do, and we finished the evening out driving back to town with funnel cakes and turkey legs. I wish I could do that at every shoot. Can’t wait until the wedding!

Dallas Engagement Session – Kim & Dele

with 3 comments

So, once again I was back on a Houston-Dallas-Houston same day no checked in luggage flight. It was a session with a client of Elegant Nuptials, and as often happens with out of town clients, the day of their e-session was my first time actually meeting them. I met Kim first, and she was really laid back, and when Dele turned up, he was too. They had picked the arts district for their shoot, as they are both huge patrons of the arts out there, and they really had some great ideas and strong opinions which was lots of fun. The lovely Nosa O. of Elegant Nuptials was at the shoot as well – super helpful as usual. I’m really excited to be working with them at their wedding – it promises to be a really incredible weekend. But before that, we’ll shoot Kim’s bridal session – she’s so psyched about it, I’m sure it’ll be a blast! Oh, on my way back to the airport after the shoot, we were running a *bit* late, so I checked in for the outbound flight on my phone, and they actually scanned my boarding pass right off the phone screen! I love toys! Ooh, and we developed a wedding web site for them too – check it out at www.kimanddele.com!

Engagement Session – Liz & Kola

without comments

I don’t often shoot an engagement session but not the wedding, but when i met Liz and Kola, they had already made all the arrangements for their wedding, but they were psyched about having me shoot their e-session. We went out and had quite a blast, and now that it’s over, I’m super bummed that I won’t be seeing them get hitched. Ja’Nee & Sebastian – Houston Engagement Session

without comments

Ja’Nee and Sebastian and Ja’nee’s mum and Sebastian’s sister all met with me one afternoon, looked at some of my work, and I didn’t hear from them for a while. I thought it wasn’t happening, until one day Ja’Nee called me up and asked me to write up a contract! I was quite psyched, and we went and shot their session a few days later. It was lots of fun – Sebastian was quite into it, and Ja’Nee of course! Here’s a small sneak peek.

Four Seasons, Las Colinas

I’d been looking forward to this Dallas wedding for a while, since Kenny (a friend from secondary school and college) mentioned it to me. Nkechi is gorgeous (too good for Kenny LOL!) and a really easygoing bride. We had an excellent time at the wedding, it was incredibly well coordinated by the amazing Melissa @ The Four Seasons. But first, a few of my favorite images from their engagement session – also in Dallas the week before the wedding.
Also, have a look at their lovely wedding album by clicking here.

Galveston Island

without comments

N & K asked me to shoot their wedding pretty close to their date, so shortly after we met, we were trying to decide on a date and location for their engagement session. The bride was telling me that they wouldn’t be available the following weekend, as they were going to Galveston for the weekend. I immediately offered to come along and shoot their session there – I hadn’t shot there in ages, since before the last hurricane, so I went up there a couple of days beforehand to check it out, scout out locations and preview the weather at the same time of day we were going to be there- it looked great, so we met at the seawall a couple of days later. It was great fun – here are a few images from the shoot!
